Curtain Cleaning in Sydney

How to maintain and clean your beautiful shower curtain?

Shower curtains play both a decorative role in establishing an elegant aesthetic in the bathroom, but above all, they have a functional role in retaining spills like doors or shower screens. Thanks to them, you have no traces of water or drops on the ground.

Like all household items, you will need to clean your shower curtain. In fact, shower curtains are exposed to traces of soap, shower gel or foam, humidity, and impurities on the skin or hair. All of these factors promote mold growth. Learning how to properly wash your shower curtain will prolong its life and strengthen the hygiene of your bathroom by making it healthier.

For each shower curtain material, there are different techniques to make it look like a new penny.

How to wash a fabric shower curtain?

To begin with, remove the shower curtain from your bathroom shower rod. Then put it in your washing machine. Remember to remove any hooks   that may be on the curtain before putting it in your washing machine

Add two large towels to the washing machine. This is to prevent the shower curtain from wrinkling, or sticking to itself and tearing in the machine. The rubbing of the towels on the shower curtain, while the washing machine is in operation, removes as much dirt as possible. Choose the white and clean ones

Add baking soda and detergent (your classic laundry powder, liquid, organic, black soap, Marseille soap, or capsules). Add the normal amount of Curtain Cleaning in Sydney products you would use for a laundry run. From there, add half a glass of baking soda. Larger shower curtains will require more baking soda. (Especially for light-colored shower curtains)

Turn on your washing machine. Select the highest cleaning level. Wash your shower curtain in hot water (between 80 ° C and 90 ° C). You have to boil it.

For lightly soiled shower curtains, all you need is baking soda and detergent. However, if your curtain is very moldy and has other stains, add bleach. After you’ve added your baking soda and detergent, turn on the machine. Pour in half a cup of bleach while the machine is filling with water. Be careful, this step should only be done if your shower curtain is white. Bleach tends to wash out colors.

When the washing machine goes into the rinse cycle, open the machine. Pour a glass of vinegar. Restart the machine and let it complete the cycle

Take a clean, slightly damp microfiber cloth. Then, sprinkle two to three tablespoons of baking soda on the cloth so that it is covered with a light coating of baking soda.

Scrub the entire shower curtain. Use your rag to scrub the curtain. Start by rubbing the curtain lightly, leaving stains encrusted for now. First, take care of basic dirt removal. Leave on for two minutes.

Rinse with hot water. Take a new cloth and dampen it with hot water. Run it over the shower curtain to remove all of the baking soda and water. Be sure to scrub the curtain until all of the baking soda is gone. Add water to the cloth if necessary.

Repeat the procedure for the remaining spots. This time, scrub away soap, lime, or mildew stains.

Rinse the curtain again. Take another clean, damp cloth with warm, clean water. Scrub the shower curtain again to remove any baking soda residue. Check that there is no trace of baking soda on the shower curtain, continuing to rinse the shower curtain until your cloth is clean.
